A.K.A Plaid Palooza
All I can say is plaid flannel has made a big appearance this year. As most of you know, I have been very busy designing, listing and stocking up my ETSY shop for the holidays. I knew my instincts were correct when I began to see my favorite stores such as Target, Pottery Barn, Pier 1, World Market loaded with plaid flannel! In fact when I received the coveted Pottery Barn Catalogue Christmas Edition (cue angels singing), I felt as if I was looking at my own home, since I have had my house staged for a very long time for Christmas taking my product shots. You can see my excitement when I saw this:
I just love the cozy, sitting by the fire, cuddled up with a pillow and sipping my favorite coffee drink images and feelings these textiles evoke. That is why I have incorporated them heavily into my Christmas/Holiday Collections for 2015. Of course I had to put my unique spin on these textiles to come up with something that can’t be found in stores or made in mass markets. Let’s face it, you can find burlap anywhere, holiday items everywhere, and even plaid all over the place. That’s not what I’m going for. I strive to make each item literally artistry…lovingly made in my studio by my own hands. Items that can be personalized, show your own design style, and bring out your own personality in your decor. Products that can work with any design aesthetic.
I am loving the red, white and black plaids this year. Whether it’s buffalo check plaid, tartan plaid, houndstooth check, plain check, whatever it is called, I am loving it! The combinations and possibilities are endless. This is only part of that collection.
I even created a new spin on my Burlap Christmas Tree Skirt and Poinsettia pillows. Here is the Christmas Tree Skirt and Poinsettia Pillow for this collection:
I even had fun making some Christmas ornaments for staging purposes. What do you think, should I list these in my shop? Note the antique ski’s I bought from Pottery Barn last year.
I have made all of my designs to mix and match. Even my designs from prior years work with this collection. Here is my Red Burlap Tree Skirt with White Pom Pom trim:
I have included the classic Tartan Plaid onto my Christmas Tree Skirts and Poinsettia Pillows.
Of course I still carry my classics:
This is just a small sample of what I am offering this Season.
